Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), under the chairmanship of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, approved the capital acquisition proposals of various weapons/platforms/equipment/systems required by the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.
Meanwhile, counting of votes polled in elections to six municipal corporations of Gujarat, including major cities of Ahmedabad and Vadodara, is underway with all eyes on performance of the BJP which is in power in these civic bodies. The counting started at 9 am. As per initial data, the BJP has made big gains in all six civic bodies. Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is contesting the polls for the first time has hindered Congress’ growth in Rajkot. The BSP, meanwhile, has managed to open its account in Jamnagar.
